Note: This post is based on the application process for SY 2025–2026. Requirements may change each school year — check the Duscian Gateway Facebook page or contact the school directly to confirm before submitting anything.
This is part of a series on applying for RTPM Dumaguete Science High School. If you’re just starting out, the main guide is here: How to Apply for RTPM Dumaguete Science High (2025).
The RTPM Science High application has two stages — before the exam and after passing.
A lot of guides just list the requirements without explaining when each one is needed. For RTPM Science High, the process actually has two distinct stages, and knowing the difference saves you from preparing the wrong thing at the wrong time.
Stage 1 — Before the entrance exam
These are the requirements you submit during the application window, before your child takes the entrance exam. Submission is done in person at the school, and the window is usually only one to two weeks once the announcement goes up on the Duscian Gateway Facebook page.
Report card (Form 138) — first to third quarter of Grade 6
This is the document with the strictest conditions. Grades have to meet specific cutoffs across all three quarters:
- English, Science, and Math: not below 87% per quarter
- All other subjects: not below 85% per quarter
Every quarter, every subject. Check this well before the submission window opens — by the time applications are being accepted, the grades are already set.
Certificate of Enrollment for the current school year
A document from your child’s current school confirming they are enrolled in Grade 6. Most schools can prepare this within a day or two, so request it early.
Bring originals and at least one photocopy of each document when you go.
Stage 2 — After your child passes
Results are posted on the Duscian Gateway Facebook page, so that’s where you’ll find out. Once your child’s name is on the list, the next step is submitting the completed Form 138 — the full Grade 6 report card with all four quarters — for final enrollment.
That’s the only document you need to bring at this stage. No additional requirements.
Brigada Skwela
Before school starts, successful applicants are expected to join Brigada Skwela — the annual community effort to clean and prepare the school grounds. It’s a half-day or full-day activity depending on the schedule, and it’s a good way for your child to get familiar with the campus before classes begin.
If you genuinely can’t make it, there’s an option to make a small donation in lieu of participating. The school will let you know the details once enrollment is confirmed.
