The KDrama legal procedural that earned its emotional moments rather than just scheduling them. My expectations for Beyond the Bar were not especially high. Korean legal dramas have a tendency to use the courtroom as backdrop while the real drama happens in office corridors and parking garages, and I had been burned by enough of them to start any new entry in the genre with measured enthusiasm.
