You need a PSA (NSO) issued copy of your birth certificate but you can’t find time to do it? Welcome to my world. 😀 So I need one and my work hours are all over the place these months I know I don’t have enough free hours to fall in line at the PSA office. So why not try their online service? Thank goodness our government has finally started to join the rest of the world in this digital age. Although this online service is not really a government fully funded thing, at least they coordinated with other companies to make our lives easier.
Please note that you can still get your birth certificate copies by going to the PSA office (it’s just that you’ll prolly spend hours getting it done). The advantage to going to their office is you’ll get your copy right away, doing it online will take a week or more. So if you need one right away, it’s best to just go to the PSA.
So here’s how to get your copy online:
1. Visit the e-Census website at https://www.psaserbilis.com.ph/Default.aspx and click on Click here to request now. You’ll be prompted to fill out contact and delivery information. Once done, it will ask you to confirm the details.
2. Once your have your contact and delivery information all set, you’ll be rerouted to the Request Summary page with choices of document
types available for request.
When you click on Birth Certificate, you’ll be prompted to fill out the following details:
Complete name of the child (first, middle, last)
Complete name of the father
Complete maiden name of the mother
Date of birth (month, day, year)
Place of birth (city/municipality, province)
Whether or not registered late.
(If registered late, please state the year when it was registered.)
Complete name and address of the requesting party
Relationship to the child
Number of copies needed
Purpose of the certification
NOTE: ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATION OF BIRTH IS SUBJECT TO THE CONFIDENTIALITY CLAUSE OF ARTICLE 7 OF THE CHILD AND YOUTH WELFARE CODE WHICH PROVIDES:
Art. 7. Nondisclosure of birth records. The records of a person’s birth shall be kept strictly confidential and no information relating thereto shall be issued except on the request of any of the following:
The person himself, or any person authorized by him;
His spouse, his parent or parents, his direct descendants, or the guardian or
institution legally incharge of him, if he is a minor;
The court or proper public official whenever absolutely necessary in administrative,
judicial or other official proceedings to determine the identity of the child’s parents
or other circumstances surrounding his birth; and
In case of the person’s death, the nearest of kin.
Any person violating the prohibition shall suffer the penalty of imprisonment of at
least two months or a fine in an amount not exceeding five hundred pesos, or both,
in the discretion of the court.
3. After filling out your personal information, you’ll be prompted to confirm it. Once you get back to the Request Summary page, you can request additional documents and when you’re all set, you can click Submit. The fee for one copy of the birth certificate is P330 only, inclusive of the delivery fee.
4. You’ll be rerouted to the page with your Batch Request Number, delivery information and payment options. The available payment options are:
5. After paying, you’ll get the payment acknowledgement and with the link to the delivery information. All these information should also be in your email.
And voila! The last step is to just wait for it to be delivered on your doorstep (that is all theoretical until I actually have the documents). I’ll be sure to keep you all posted when I got it.
